Worker critically hurt in fall from ladder

A Silver Spring man who was repairing siding on an Odenton house fell from an 18-foot extension ladder Tuesday, suffering head and other injuries, county police said yesterday.

Leonel Eduardo Martinez, 46, of the 700 block of Langley Drive, was in critical but stable condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center yesterday with a fractured skull and broken bones in both arms and wrists.

Police said Martinez, who works for a Laurel construction firm, was climbing the ladder at a house in the 2200 block of Indian Summer Drive about 9: 45 a.m. when he fell onto a concrete slab at the bottom of a stairwell.
