$2,000 reward offered in Mount Airy robbery

The Maryland Association of Bank Security is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the identity of a man wanted for robbing the Frederick County National Bank in Mount Airy on May 18, state police said yesterday.

Police are looking for a slim black man, 25 to 30 years old and

about 5 feet, 9 inches tall. He has a scruffy beard, mustache and, at the time of the robbery, was wearing a dark baseball hat, sunglasses, black waist-length coat and blue jeans. The suspect may be driving a tan, late-model car.

Mount Airy: Firefighters responded at 1: 41 a.m. yesterday to an auto fire on Route 27 at Route 808. Units were out 36 minutes.
