Robbery: A man's hand was broken as he tried to fend off two thugs who robbed him of his wallet Saturday in the 600 block of W. Lafayette Ave. The victim was treated at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
Theft from auto: Someone entered a Chevrolet parked in the 100 block of W. Lombard St. on Saturday and stole a cellular car phone and other property, all valued at more than $1,000.
Shooting/arrest: A 54-year-old man was being held in the city detention center yesterday, charged with attempted murder in the shooting of a 37-year-old man Friday night in the 100 block of N. Caroline St. The victim was listed in critical condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Theft: A custom-made mountain bike valued at nearly $1,500 was stolen Saturday in the 2000 block of Druid Park Drive.
Burglary: Someone entered the foyer of a house in the 600 block of St. Dunstan's Road on Saturday and stole a purse containing cash and property, all valued at more than $400.
Vandalism: A truck owned by a property development firm was parked in the 1300 block of W. Lexington St. on Saturday when someone tried to remove a door, causing $200 in damage.
Theft: Plywood and other building material, all valued at nearly $2,800, were stolen Friday night or Saturday morning from Mace-Fremont Building Materials in the 1100 block of N. Fremont Ave. by at least two people.
Assault/arrest: Police arrested a man Saturday after he assaulted a woman with a hot electric steam iron during an incident in her home in the 1500 block of W. Fayette St. The woman suffered injuries including facial burns.
White Marsh Precinct
Burglary: Someone entered the basement of a house in the 8200 block of Old Philadelphia Road on Saturday and stole a 140-horsepower Mercury outboard motor valued at $3,000.
Burglary: A wallet containing an undisclosed sum was reported stolen Saturday from a room at the Blue Star Motel in the 11100 block of Pulaski Highway.
Burglary: An 18-speed, 28-inch bike valued at more than $150 was stolen Saturday from the back yard of a house in the 1200 block of Limit Ave.
Burglary: Someone entered the Love Ones Lingerie & Gift Center in the 9600 block of Reisterstown Road Friday night or Saturday morning and stole more than $70.
Burglary: Hair-cutting equipment and supplies were stolen Friday night or Saturday morning from Uno-Cheta Inc. in the 1500 block of Reisterstown Road by someone who entered after knocking a hole in a wall.
North Point Precinct
Theft: A man from the 7800 block of Kavanagh Road reported that someone stole his automated teller machine card in late May and withdrew more than $700 from his bank account.
