"When The Christ and His Saints Slept," by Sharon K. Penman. It's historical medieval fiction. A lot of people look at history as faceless, characterless figures, but when you put the players into fiction and get all the richness of the story combined with facts, it brings history to life. Yeah, I'd definitely reccomend it.

I just finished Anne Rice's "Memnock, the Devil." I come from a rigid Catholic background and it gave me a different view of heaven and hell, a different view of the devil. She's a really interesting, fascinating writer.
