Fair housing summit slated this week

The first statewide Fair Housing Planning Symposium/Civil Rights Summit will be held by a group of public and nonprofit organizations, Wednesday through Friday at the USF&G Mount Washington conference center. Registration is $40 per person and includes lunch, books and materials.

The event will provide training and technical assistance on fair housing planning. The conference will also focus on barriers to fair housing, such as bias, housing and employment discrimination, and housing issues that affect individuals with disabilities. Sponsors include the Maryland State Office of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Maryland State Commission on Human Relations, the national office of the NAACP, the Baltimore Urban League, Baltimore Neighborhoods Inc., the Maryland Center for Independent Living and the Maryland Low-Income Housing Coalition.

Enterprise Foundation launches web page

The Columbia-based Enterprise Foundation has launched a World Wide Web site at http: //www.entrprisefdn.org. Visitors to the site will find material about the foundation's financial, technical assistance and information services.

The site provides information about Enterprise's 15th Annual Network Conference in Miami in December.
