Who's who
Eleven students at Anne Arundel Community College have been named to the 1996 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges.
Students are selected by campus nominating committees and editors of the annual directory, on the basis of academic achievement, service to community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for success.
Kathleen Bowser and Elizabeth Garner, both of Annapolis, were chosen, along with Harriet Warrenof Baltimore; Peggy Bronstein of Davidsonville; Peggy Clark of Glen Burnie; Robert Ehrhardt of Millersville; Melissa Herron of Orchard Beach; Betty Ann Blanchard and Teresa Rimel, both of Pasadena, and Kerry Lindenmeyer and Josephine Proetorius-Beneke, both of Severna Park.
Spalding orientation
Archbishop Spalding High School has planned a welcome and orientation session for parents at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
All parents of freshmen and transfer students are invited.
The Spalding band will entertain from 6: 30 p.m. to 7 p.m., and parents will be able to meet school administrators, staff and faculty.

Marching in Missouri
The Severna Park High School Marching Band recently exchanged a performance for an evening of fun at Six Flags of Mid-America in St. Louis, Mo.
After performing in the park, band members and their parents enjoyed the rides.
According to some accounts, the roller coasters were a favorite of the parents.
Throughout the evening, strangers complimented the 175 students and chaperons on the band's performance and on the young people's behavior.
Vacation Bible school
It won't be your same old vacation Bible school at Severna Park Baptist Church this summer, says director Teri Sasser.
The school gets an early start at 9 a.m. June 21 with Camp Courageous Adventure Day, a morning of games, crafts, puppets and songs.
Participants will register and meet their teachers.
Regular Bible school begins at 8: 50 a.m. June 24 and continues through June 28.

'Adventures with Jesus'
Our Shepherd Lutheran Church calls its Bible school "Friendship Adventures with Jesus," says Superintendent Kris Eichelberger.
Classes for children from age 3 through sixth-graders are planned from 9 a.m. to noon June 24-28. No fee is charged, but a donation is welcome.
Deadline for registration is June 18. Call 647-1658.
Our Shepherd modifies its schedule each summer. No Sunday school will be held, and only one worship service will be offered at 9: 30 a.m. Sundays June 2 through Sept. 8. Thursday services will be at 7: 30 p.m.
