Mount Airy bank robbed man sought

State police are searching for a man who robbed Frederick County National Bank in Mount Airy of an undisclosed amount of money Saturday and fled in a tan sedan.

The suspect was described as black, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 25 to 30 years old, with a scruffy beard and mustache. He was wearing sunglasses, a dark baseball cap, a black, waist-length coat and blue jeans.

The man displayed no weapon during the robbery, but he threatened to harm tellers if they did not cooperate.

No customers were in the bank on Ridgeville Boulevard at the time of the 9: 40 a.m. incident, state police said.

Fire

Mount Airy: Firefighters responded at 5: 54 p.m. Friday for a brush fire on Interstate 70 and Bartholow Road in Frederick County. Units are out 16 minutes.

Mount Airy: Firefighters responded at 8: 59 p.m. Saturday for a barn fire on Hardy Road. Units were out 18 minutes.
