Local women to play in all-star games June 1

Seven local players were among the 36 chosen to the second annual Division III North/South All-Star women's lacrosse game, scheduled for June 1 at 4 p.m. at Johns Hopkins.

The South roster includes Hopkins attackers Jenn Ward and Francine Brennan, Goucher attack Courtney Crangi and midfielder Michele Mohlman, Salisbury State goalkeeper Shawna Block and midfielder Crissy Fellona and Western Maryland attack Denise Sarver. St. Mary's attack Kristy Miller is an alternate.

Johns Hopkins coach Janine Tucker was chairwoman of the selection committee.

The Division I/II All-Star game is set to begin at 6 p.m. Maryland's Kelly Amonte, Liz Downing and Kelly MacCrate will play for the South, and Loyola's Kim Reardon, Suzy Waire and Erika Schaub will represent the North.
