Louis J. Ippolito Jr. of Clarksville has won the Stanley J. Drazek Teaching Excellence Award from the University of Maryland University College. He will receive the award at the May 18 commencement in College Park.
Ippolito, who teaches satellite communications systems in the graduate school of management and technology, is vice president for communication sciences at Stanford Telecommunications Inc. in Reston, Va. He was chosen from among 216 graduate school faculty members for excellence as a teacher and scholar.
