Man robs cashier at clothing store

A Laurel clothing store was robbed Friday by a man who implied that he had a weapon, county police said yesterday.

Margarita Orellana, 22, was working the cash register at E. J. Roberts in the 3500 block of Fort Meade Road about 3: 30 p.m. when a man approached, reached under his shirt as if he had a weapon, demanded money and threatened to shoot Ms. Orellana if she did not comply, police said.

She handed over money and the man ran, got into a red station wagon and sped off, police said. They did not have a detailed description of the bandit.
