Columbia men are charged in burglary

Two Columbia men were charged with burglary Friday after a Columbia hotel security guard saw a man trying to steal a typewriter from an unlocked office, Howard County police said.

A guard at the Columbia Hilton in the 5400 block of Twin Knolls Road in Oakland Mills chased the man he saw at 3: 30 a.m. Police officers arrested two men nearby, police said.

Michael Thomas Bramer, 18, of the 9600 block of Rock Sparkle Row in Columbia's Oakland Mills village, was released on personal recognizance. Joseph Andrew Jacobsen, 18, of Hickory Ridge Road in Columbia's Owen Brown village, was released on $5,000 bond, police said.
