Sykesville man, 19, arrested on drug possession charges

Hampstead police arrested a Sykesville man Monday on marijuana charges after receiving a tip that drugs were being sold outside a fast-food restaurant.

Jason W. Lewis, 19, was charged with possession and possession with intent to distribute marijuana, then released on his own recognizance after appearing before a Carroll County District Court commissioner.

Mr. Lewis was arrested in a parking lot in the 4200 block of Northwoods Trail about 3 p.m. Police said they found suspected marijuana in his pockets and a marijuana pipe on the floor of his vehicle.


Lineboro: Firefighters from Manchester, Hampstead and Pleasant Hill, Pa., assisted Lineboro at 3: 46 p.m. Monday, responding for a field fire on Wentz Road. Units were out 90 minutes.

Manchester: Firefighters responded at 8: 46 p.m. Monday for downed wires in the 3300 block of Locust Street. Units were out 12 minutes.
