Teen's condition is fair after head-on collision

A Sykesville teen-ager remained in fair condition yesterday at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he was admitted after a head-on auto collision Friday in Eldersburg.

David E. Fetterhoff, 17, of the 5900 block of Grace Lee Ave. was driving east on Route 26 near White Rock Road about 3: 40 p.m. when his Ford Probe collided with a westbound vehicle that had crossed the center line.

The vehicle, driven by Calvin C. Reed, 43, of the 300 block of Wampler Court in Westminster, clipped a school bus before colliding with Mr. Fetterhoff's car, police said.

Mr. Reed also was flown to the Baltimore trauma center, where he was treated and released at 11: 45 p.m. Friday, a hospital spokeswoman said yesterday.

A passenger Mr. Reed's vehicle, Albert C. Havelin, 57, of the first block of Carroll View Way in Westminster, was taken to Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. A spokesman there said Mr. Havelin was not a patient yesterday but could provide no other details.

The bus driver, Eileen E. Vogelpohl, 43, of the 1900 block of Pine Knob Road in Sykesville, was not injured.

Police are investigating the accident.

Eldersburg: A couple in Lansdowne, Baltimore County, told state police that a bronze vase was stolen from a grave at Lakeview Memorial Park in the 2600 block of Liberty Road before Friday. The loss was estimated at $250.

Fire

Gamber: Firefighters responded at 7: 13 a.m. Saturday to a carbon monoxide alarm in the 3900 block of Gamber Road. Units were out 19 minutes.

Gamber: Firefighters from Sykesville and Winfield assisted xTC Gamber at 9: 23 a.m. Saturday, responding to a barn fire in the 5000 block of Cherry Tree Lane. Units were out 25 minutes.

Gamber: Firefighters responded at 9: 40 a.m. Saturday to investigate a fire report in the 1600 block of Davinda Drive. Units were out 15 minutes.

Sykesville: Firefighters responded at 11: 39 a.m. Saturday for electrical wires on fire in the 5600 block of Bartholow Road. Units were out 30 minutes.

Gamber: Firefighters responded at 6: 43 p.m. Saturday to investigate a fire report in the 3900 block of Sykesville Road. Units were out 45 minutes.

Sykesville: Firefighters responded at 2: 33 a.m. Monday to assist police in the 2000 block of Liberty Road. Units were out 27 minutes.
