Police search for man wanted in rape case

Howard County police were searching last night for a man wanted in the rape of a 27-year-old Jessup woman early yesterday.

The woman was treated at Howard County General Hospital and released, police said.

Police said the victim met two men at The Place in Odenton late Sunday night.

After socializing, the three got into a gray BMW belonging to one of the men and drove to a Denny's restaurant on Maryland 175 in Anne Arundel County, police said.

At least an hour later, the three left the restaurant and drove into Howard County. The driver parked in a dirt driveway near Mission Road in Jessup.

The second man, who had been sitting in the back seat, got out of the car and walked away. The driver then raped the woman, police said.

About 3: 20 a.m., the woman ran from the car and banged on the door of a house in the 8200 block of Mission Road. A resident let her in and called police, Sergeant Keller said.

The woman described her assailant as white, 25 to 30 years old, 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 190 pounds. He had a mustache and a light beard, and wore a tank top, plaid shorts and a dark-colored baseball hat.

The victim could not give a complete description of his companion, police said.
