Baltimore Country Club swept nine points at home in an 11 1/2 -6 1/2 victory over Prospect Bay, and won the Baltimore-area championship of the 68th annual team matches of the Maryland State Golf Association yesterday.

Defending champion Columbia CC, which got six points each at home and away, stopped Crofton CC, 12-6, in the Washington area final, and will be the host team for the state final Saturday.

At Prospect Bay, Baltimore CC pro Brian Morrison-Mike McShane got a half-point on the front nine, and Pat O'Malley-Pat Brady piled up an early lead in winning two points. In addition to the 2 1/2 points by pro Bill Horney-Mike Larson, Prospect Bay got a 3-0 win from Marvin Guerra-Tim Sughrue.

Baltimore CC, which won the last of its three titles in 1950, was last in the championship pairing in 1986, when it lost to Bethesda CC.
