Workshop planned today for youths and parents

The Youth Ministry of City Temple of Baltimore will present a Youth and Parents Workshop from noon to 3 p.m. today at the temple, Dolphin Street and Eutaw Place.

The youth workshop will feature a discussion of "Sex, Lies and the Truth." The parents workshop will include "Understanding the Hip-Hop Generation."

Facilitators will be Baltimore Councilman Keiffer Mitchell and Deacon William Bryant.

Sunday lecture series presents faces of Jesus

St. Christopher's Episcopal Church and the Foundation of St. Christopher's in Linthicum will sponsor a lecture series on "God in Galilee: The Divine and Human Faces of Jesus" at 2 p.m. Sundays through May 19.

Four of the lectures will be by Dr. John J. Pilch, professor of religion at Georgetown University. He will discuss the social world of first century Palestine, putting Jesus' words in the context of that culture.

Additional lectures by Maryland Episcopal Bishop Robert Ihloff and Father Carl Edwards, rector of Emmanuel Church in Glencoe, will focus on the divinity of Jesus and the importance of Christian faith in today's world.

In a separate series, Dr. Christopher Peiper, rector of St. Christopher's, teaches an adult class at 9: 15 a.m. each Sunday on "The Bible of Jesus."
