Pianist Wu Han set to perform at Severna Park High School

EXCITING young pianist Wu Han will appear at 8 p.m. Sunday at Severna Park High School.

Performing in concert halls in New York, San Francisco and Tokyo, Wu Han earned unanimous praise as a chamber musician, recitalist and orchestral soloist.

This performance, a presentation of the Anne Arundel Community Concert Association, also is a special bonus for new members.

Spring Triathlon

With the echo of marathon runners still thundering through the streets of Boston, Anne Arundel Community College announces its sixth annual test of athletic endurance: Spring Triathlon '96 at 8 a.m. Sunday.

Participants will swim a third of a mile (24 lengths) in the indoor pool, bike seven miles along College Parkway and run five kilometers around the Arnold campus.

The sponsors are Bike Doctor Inc., Cycleworks at Ski Haus, Bank of Annapolis and the college Campus Recreation Office. Awards are being donated by Athlete's Edge.

Entry fees are $8 for individuals and $20 per team. Race packets will be available starting at 7: 15 a.m. on race day at the college pool.

YWCA reception

The YWCA of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County will have a reception for volunteers from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Governor's Reception Room at the State House in Annapolis.

Talented 'Chelsea'

The cast of "Chelsea" -- an original musical at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts about life in the White House, the first daughter and her cat, Socks -- is full of talented local youngsters.

From Millersville, Kara Cooper, Leslie Luddington, Laura Martin and Lindsey Martin.

From Crownsville, Jenny Alley.

From Cape St. Claire are Jennifer Hegner, Natalie Roers, Jennifer Sweigert and Travis Todd.

And from St. Margaret's, Logan Berg and Laura Lutkefedder.

The play will be presented at 7: 30 p.m. April 26 and May 3; 9 a.m. and noon May 2; and 1 p.m. May 4.
