Loyola cruises by C.W. Post, 17-5

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. -- Seniors Brian Duffy and Brian Bacso combined for five goals and 10 assists yesterday to power No. 9 Loyola past C. W. Post, 17-5.

The Greyhounds (5-4) have won nine straight over the Pioneers (7-2). Bacso scored the game's first goal with 10: 54 left in the first quarter but then C.W. Post's Pete DeRupo tied the game 45 seconds later.

The Greyhounds scored four unanswered goals to take a 5-1 lead at the end of the first.

Loyola extended the lead to 12-3 at the half and held its largest lead at 17-3 after Gewas Schindler's goal with 10 minutes left in the game.

Loyola's defense held C.W. Post without a goal for nearly 40 minutes from the 12-minute mark of the second quarter to 2: 19 left in the game.

Nine players scored for Loyola.
