Martin's to reopen expanded food store in Eldersburg on Wednesday

Martin's food store in Eldersburg will reopen Wednesday after its expansion.

The 8-year-old store is in Freedom Village Shopping Center.

It has been enlarged from 35,000 square feet to 52,000 square feet.

The store will feature a 400-item fruit and vegetable department, a 65-item salad bar, a larger deli, discounted health and beauty care items, a full-service seafood department, expanded gourmet and specialty food areas, five new handicapped-accessible checkouts and expanded dairy and frozen food sections.

The expansion will create 40 new jobs.

The Eldersburg store will be open 24 hours a day.

Holly Chabbott and Judy Flynnhave

Chabbott been hired by Union National Bank. Ms. Chabbott, of Lutherville, will work in the commercial lending department. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia with 12 years' experience. Ms. Flynn, of Hampstead, will Flynn be a part-time teller at the 140 Village branch. She previously was a clerk in accounting at savings and loans in Pikesville.
