Daffodil Show

London Town House and Gardens will turn into a sea of fragrant yellow when it plays host to the 16th Annual Daffodil Show this weekend.

The theme for this year's show is "Around the World With Daffodils." More than 300 varieties of daffodils will be displayed in single-item vases and elaborate floral arrangements. Judges will award prizes to the best entries in 11 categories, including the Viewer's Award and the London Town Foundation Award.

Throughout the weekend, visitors will also have the opportunity to tour the London Town Foundation's 8-acre woodland garden.

The London Town House and Gardens is located at 839 Londontown Road, Edgewater. Show hours are tomorrow, 1 p.m.-5 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and Sunday, noon-4 p.m. Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for seniors and children. Call (410) 222-1919.

Gourmet gathering

Doneckers of Ephrata, Pa., is host of the Third Annual Gourmet Fest at the Artworks Expo Center this weekend. Visitors will have the opportunity to savor gourmet cuisine, meet nationally renowned chefs and purchase gourmet cookware.

Lynn Fischer of PBS' "Lynn Fischer's Healthy Indulgences" and Gail Greco of PBS' "Country Inn Cooking with Gail Greco" will be making appearances at the Gourmet Fest. These and other chefs will hold cooking demonstrations and book signings throughout the weekend.

The Artworks Expo Center is at 100 N. State St. in Ephrata. Fest hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $5. Call (717) 738-9500, Ext. 204.
