Shorebirds pound Sand Gnats, 13-6

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Delmarva's middle of the lineup -- Carlos Adolpho, Fernando Seguignol and Jose Fernandez -- combined for 10 hits, including two homers, two triples and seven RBIs as the Shorebirds topped the Savannah Sand Gnats, 13-6, last night in the Single-A South Atlantic League.

Seguignol had the club's first four-hit game and also hit a two-run home run.

D. C. Olson went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs for Delmarva (6-0), the only undefeated team in the league. The Shorebirds lead Charleston (W.Va.) by 2 1/2 games in the Northern Division.

Savannah falls to 3-3 and is a half-game out of first place in the Southern Division.
