Century 21 honors top offices, associates

Century 21 Kayhouse Realty of Baltimore and Beverly Sroka-Langley of Century 21 Finesse in Severna Park were the big winners when the Century 21 Central Atlantic Region honored the top area offices and sales associates of 1995 during a recent gala at the Belvedere.

Kayhouse took "Top Office" honors with over $33 million in settled sales volume. The firm was also the "Top Listing Office," while Century 21 Home Specialists in Baltimore was named "Career Opportunity Office."

Ms. Sroka-Langley sold more than 250 houses with $25 million in settled sales volume to capture "Top Sales Associate" honors for the region and the Greater Maryland District.

Irene Tang of Century Diana Realty in Bel Air was the "Top Commercial-Investment Sales Associate."

Joining Century 21 Kayhouse as "Gold Club Offices" with at least $17 million in sales are Century 21 Associated Real Estate in Baltimore, Century 21 Horizon Realty Inc. in Baltimore, Century 21 Forty West Inc. in Ellicott City, Century 21 Diana Realty Inc. in Bel Air, Century 21 Finesse in Severna Park, and Century 21 Moss Realty in Odenton.

"Quality Service Offices" with a 95 percent customer satisfaction rating are Century 21 Able Realty in Westminster, Associated, Century 21 Award Realty in Baltimore, Century 21 Charles J. Plunkert Inc. in Westminster, Century 21 Crist Realty in Glen Burnie, Century 21 Curry Agency in Aberdeen, Diana Realty, Forty West, Horizon, Kayhouse and the Light Street office of Century 21 Security Realty Co.

Kayhouse and Associated were the only area offices to receive the "Centurion Office Award" for selling at least $33 million worth of houses.

"Centurion Sales Associates" with at least $5 million in sales are Ms. Sroka-Langley, James Skarda of Horizon, Bebe Rush of Plunkert, Alex Beckman of Moss and Thomas Nibali of Kayhouse.

Slide show and tour at Liberty Village

Liberty Village, Maryland's first co-housing community, is holding a slide show and tour of the 27-acre site starting at 2 p.m. next Sunday and again May 19 at 12301 Liberty Road in Libertytown.

In a co-housing development, individuals own their own homes but share some grounds and facilities, such as a clubhouse.

Seminar is April 18 for homebuyers

Tri-Churches Housing is conducting a housing seminar for first-time, low- and moderate-income homebuyers April 18 from 6: 30 p.m. to 8: 30 p.m. in the lower hall of the St. Jerome's Head Start Center at 765 W. Hamburg St.

Sponsored by Mercantile Mortgage Corp., the seminar will cover the complete homebuying process, including special programs for low- and moderate-income homebuyers. Participants will also receive information on the free homeownership counseling services offered by Tri-Churches.

Tri-Churches' next round of homebuyer classes is scheduled for 7 p.m. to 8: 30 p.m. May 14, May 21 and May 28.

Founded by three churches in the Washington Village/Pigtown neighborhood, Tri-Churches Housing has renovated 23 vacant houses since 1985.

Colony Title Group Ltd.has opened its offices at 10320 Little Patuxent Parkway, Suite 410 in Columbia. Edwin E. Tillman Jr. is company president.

Tilson & Becker Chartered,Real Estate Appraisers and Consultants have been hired by the City of Baltimore to conduct a comprehensive market study of the current values for existing housing throughout the Sandtown-Winchester urban renewal area. The expected completion date is May 1.

On the Move

First Town Mortgage Corp.promoted Brian Sacks to vice president of its mid-Atlantic region to oversee the firm's expansion in Maryland, Virginia and Washington. Assistant vice president and manager of First Town's Lutherville office for the past five years, Mr. Sacks has been the firm's top producer for the past six years. The Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors named him 1995 "Affiliate Member of the Year." A Baltimore native, he lives in Owings Mills with his wife, Sherri, and their daughter, Melissa.

Gilbert D. Marsiglia & Co. Inc.said Jimmie L. Padgett has joined the Lutherville firm as a sales associate. Mr. Padgett is a graduate of Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Fla.

Mercantile Mortgage Corp.said Barbara Petza joined the firm as a mortgage representative. Formerly with York Federal, Ms. Petza has 25 years of mortgage banking and real estate experience.

Pulte Home Corp.recently appointed three community sales managers. They are Dale Hevesy, Magnolia Farms in Harford County; Steve Weber, Glyndon Meadows in Baltimore County; Linda Heschl, Clarks Glen in Howard County; and Cheryl Hook, Fox Chase in Anne Arundel County. Mr. Hevesy was named 1993 Rookie Salesperson of the Year by the Home Builders Association of Maryland. Ms. Heschl was HBAM Salesperson of the Year in 1992.

Signet Mortgage Corp.named David Meurer manager of its Columbia office. An eight-year veteran of the mortgage industry, Mr. Meurer was formerly a loan originator for Columbia National Mortgage Corp. He has a finance degree from the University of Virginia and a master's in administrative science from Johns Hopkins University.
