Shorebirds win in franchise debut Suns drop opener

The Delmarva Shorebirds, Maryland's newest minor-league team, won the first game in franchise history last night, defeating the host Charleston (S.C.) RiverDogs, 5-4.

Maryland's other South Atlantic League team, the Hagerstown Suns, dropped their season opener last night to the host Savannah Sand Gnats, 6-1.
