Crunch clinches, will meet Spirit in division finals

The Cleveland Crunch defeated the visiting Buffalo Blizzard, 17-11, last night in Game 3 of their National Professional Soccer League playoff series, advancing to meet the Spirit in the American Division finals.

The first game in the best-of-five division finals begins Friday in Cleveland at 7: 35 p.m. Game 2 is Sunday in Cleveland at 6 p.m. The series comes to the Baltimore Arena for Game 3 on Tuesday and Game 4 if necessary on April 13.

The Spirit has beaten the Crunch three times in four games this season, including twice in March. On March 3 in Cleveland, the Spirit won, 16-13, behind three two-point goals by Kevin Sloan.

The Spirit's only loss to the Crunch was a 17-9 decision on Nov. 25 at the Baltimore Arena.
