Columbia Mall carousel booth is robbed

A man who indicated he had a gun robbed the carousel attendant at The Mall in Columbia's Town Center Monday night, Howard County police said.

No one was injured when the man took a bank bag from the booth and fled out the doors near the carousel after the 9: 38 p.m. robbery.

Mall security officers saw a green Honda Civic with Maryland license plates speeding from the area, but they were unsure if the robber was in the vehicle.

The thief was described as a black male standing 5-foot-9 and weighing 165 pounds.

He was said to be clean-shaven and wearing a mid-length tan jacket, jeans and a black leather baseball cap.
