Toast the host with a book of wine

Bats and brews

The Keys Cafe at Harry Grove Stadium in Frederick is planning a series of beer-tasting dinners. The first, at 5: 30 p.m. next Tuesday, will feature brews from Samuel Adams and the Oregon Brewing Co. Cost is $35 per person and includes a luxury box seat for the Keys' game against the Lynchburg Hillcats. Reservations are required; call Bob Oland at (301) 662-0013.

Southern sampler

Southern Maryland food, along with Maryland wines and Maryland beers will be on the menu at the 7th annual Taste of Southern Maryland from noon to 4 p.m. April 14 at Herrington on the Bay restaurant. Proceeds benefit the culinary arts program at the Center of Applied Technology, South, an Anne Arundel high school. Admission is $12 for adults, $4 for children under 12. Call (410) 741-5101.
