School board hopefuls to answer questions

April 01, 1996

The three candidates seeking a seat on the county Board of Education will answer questions at an Anne Arundel School Board Nomination Convention hearing at 7 p.m. tomorrow at North County High School.

The seat is for legislative District 33, which includes Severna Park, Crofton and much of the southern and western part of the county. Maureen Carr York, who has held the position for five years, decided against seeking a second term. The term begins July 1.

The candidates are Paul Rudolf from Severna Park, Dobie McArthur from Millersville and Zoe Draughon from Odenton.

The convention, made up of delegates representing county community groups, is scheduled to vote May 8. Its recommendation will be forwarded to County Executive John G. Gary and Gov. Parris N. Glendening, who will make the appointment.
