A three-vehicle accident Friday in western Howard County sent two people to Maryland Shock Trauma Center and a third person to Howard County General Hospital, police said.

About 8 a.m., a 1993 Subaru pulled out of Ten Oaks Road onto northbound Route 32. The car was struck in the rear by a 1987 Chevrolet truck that was traveling north on Route 32, according to a preliminary investigation.

The impact forced the car across the center line, where it was struck by a 1995 Chevrolet truck traveling south on Route 32.

Karen Darden, 26, the driver of the car, and passenger Trenton Seals, 28, both of the 14000 block of Tridelphia Mill Road were flown to Shock Trauma.

Ms. Darden was treated and released. Mr. Seals was in fair condition yesterday.

William Booker, 45, of the 6000 block of Devlon Place in Elkridge was driving the northbound truck. He and a passenger, Daniel Bedford of the 100 block of N. Carol St. in Laurel, were not injured.

The driver of the southbound truck, Robert Krysick, 40, of the 1000 block of Hoods Mill Road in Woodbine was treated at Howard County General Hospital and released.
