Shanley helps Towson finish second in meet

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. -- Junior Erin Shanley earned a 9.90 on the bars and a 9.80 on floor to share the championships in each event as NCAA Southeast Regional-bound Towson State scored a season-high 193.725 to finish second to West Virginia's 194.600 in the first East Atlantic Gymnastics League championship meet.

Maryland finished fourth with a 192.150 score and likely will join Towson State at the Southeast Regional meet at the University of Florida on April 13.

The Terrapins would be making their first NCAA regional appearance since 1991; Towson State has qualified for the 10th year in a row.

Towson freshman Liane Williams tied for first on the beam.
