Blues: Grant Fuhr started his 74th consecutive game Tuesday night to move within one of the NHL record for games played by a goalie that he set with Edmonton in 1987-88. Fuhr was pulled after allowing two goals on seven shots in the Blues' 8-4 loss to Pittsburgh.

Devils: Stephane Richer recorded his ninth-career hat trick as New Jersey beat Tampa Bay, 6-4, Tuesday. . . . Martin Brodeur made his 35th straight start in goal for New Jersey.

Islanders: Mike Milbury, the coach and general manager of the New York Islanders, will manage the U.S. team in the April 21-May 5 world championships in Vienna, Austria. Ottawa GM Pierre Gauthier will direct the Canadian team.

Jets: Keith Tkachuk had the first four-goal game of his career and Winnipeg took over sole possession of the eighth and final Western Conference playoff spot with an 8-2 victory over Dallas Tuesday. . . . Igor Korolev scored two goals during a 12-second span in the second period. Korolev's two goals were not the fastest in club history, however. Deron Quint set the team mark, and tied an NHL record earlier this season, when he scored two goals in four seconds in a 9-4 victory over Edmonton. Tkachuk also had goals 16 seconds apart in the game Tuesday night.
