DAVIDSONVILLE -- A 22-year-old Prince George's County woman was killed and her 18-month-old child injured yesterday when the car she was driving crashed into a dump truck at Central Avenue and Patuxent River Road, county police said.

Jennifer Ann Randolph of the 17500 block of Claggett Landing Road in Upper Marlboro was flown by a MedEvac helicopter to the Prince George's Trauma Center in Cheverly where she was pronounced dead a short time after the 9 a.m. accident, police said.

Her son, Matthew Randolph, was treated for minor injuries at Children's Hospital in Washington and released, police said.

Ms. Randolph was driving a 1990 Ford Escort east on Central Avenue when it collided with a 1984 Mack dump truck, belonging to the Genstar Stone Products Co., that had turned onto Patuxent River Road and into the path of the Escort, police said. Ms. Randolph was trapped in the car for several minutes before she was freed by Fire Department rescuers.

Police said the dump truck driver, a 24-year-old man from Middletown in Frederick County, was not injured.
