4 from area earn honors in Virginia

Three Westminster students and one from Finksburg have been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Virginia colleges.

Seniors Scott D. Dell and Kevin M. Myers and sophomore Christopher M. Geiman, all of Westminster, earned the honor for having grade point averages of 3.4 to 4.0 at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

Stephanie Rooney of Finksburg was named to the dean's list at Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg.

A junior at the college, she achieved a 4.0 grade point average.

Police

Westminster: A Union Bridge woman told city police at 9: 23 p.m. Thursday that someone damaged the passenger-side mirror on her vehicle while it was parked at Cranberry Mall between 6 p.m. and 6: 30 p.m. that day. Damage was estimated at $50.

Westminster: An Eldersburg man told city police at 2: 21 p.m. Friday that someone scratched the side of his vehicle while it was parked at Cranberry Mall between 8: 30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Thursday. Damage was estimated at $500.

Westminster: Employees of a fast food restaurant in the 140 Village Shopping Center told city police at 9: 12 a.m. Saturday that someone broke the window, entered the business between 10: 30 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday and stolen $638.

Westminster: A resident of Taneytown Pike told city police at 11: 54 Saturday that someone shot numerous paint balls at rental properties in the 100 block of W. Main St. between 5: 30 p.m. Thursday and 8: 30 a.m. Friday. Damage was estimated at $50.

Westminster: An East Main Street resident told city police at 4: 12 p.m. Wednesday that someone stole parts from bicycles locked to a deck at the rear of his home between 7 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. Wednesday. The loss was estimated at $142.

Westminster: A resident of Crows Court told city police at 6: 57 p.m. Saturday that someone scratched her vehicle while it was parked outside her home between 11 p.m. Friday and 9: 30 a.m. Saturday. Damage was estimated at $3,000.
