ABINGDON -- Two Abingdon youths have been arrested and charges are pending against a third in a spree of vandalism March 17 that caused more than $250,000 damage to Harford County buses and cars at the public works yards in the 3100 block of Old Philadelphia Road, authorities said yesterday.

The boys, 14 and 17, were arrested during the weekend and charged as juveniles with breaking and entering, theft and malicious destruction, said Sgt. Edward Hopkins, a spokesman for the county sheriff's office. The youths were released to their parents, he said.

A county employee likened the vandalism to a "demolition derby" as buses were crashed on the property.
