Delaware finally solves Navy, 13-7

NEWARK, DEL. — Newark Del. -- Senior Brock Livingston scored a career-high six goals as Delaware knocked off No. 20 Navy, 13-7 yesterday before 400 at Delaware Field.

The Blue Hens (4-2) defeated the Midshipmen for the first time in 13 meetings since 1977. Navy (3-3) lost its second straight despite three goals from J.L. Reppert.

Navy got on the board with 4:42 left in the opening quarter, but Livingston added two second-quarter goals to send the Hens up 7-4 at halftime.

Freshman Jim Bruder added three goals for the Blue Hens, and Jake Much had two goals and an assist. Pat Gately and Chris Mach each had two assists for the Hens.

Delaware, which had a 51-28 ground-ball advantage, was coming off a 15-5 win over Vermont on Wednesday in which Livingston scored five goals.

Navy also got two goals from Alex Borcz and three assists from Geoff Walker.

MA Goal keeper Garrett Luebker faced 46 shots and made 19 saves.
