David Cope, formerly the general sales manager of the corporate parent of the Bullets, Capitals and USAir Arena, has been named vice president of marketing and sales for Baltimore's new NFL team.

In his new position, Cope will be responsible for sales of season tickets, permanent seat licenses, luxury suites and club seats, as well as broadcast negotiations and sales, and corporate sales. He will report to David Modell, who is the son of team owner Art Modell and the team's head of marketing.

"We're going to get going fast and furiously," said Cope, who assumed his new position on Monday.

Cope, 32, holds a marketing degree from Stetson University, and from 1987 to 1994, he worked for the Orioles, working his way up to director of marketing and advertising.
