Ag Days to be held Friday, Saturday

The ninth annual Carroll County Ag Days will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Carrolltown Center in Eldersburg.

The event provides an opportunity for citizens to meet with rural residents, discuss common problems and needs and to gain a better awareness of the importance of agriculture.

More than 30 organizations and businesses will have displays focusing on the theme "Carroll County Agriculture Growing Better Everyday From Generation to Generation."

Other activities will include square dancing and clogging Friday evening.

Saturday, there will be a live Hodgepodge Portable Petting Farm animal display from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., a 4-H fashion show at 11 a.m., a homemade ice cream churning contest at 12: 30 p.m. and puppet story time at 2 p.m.

There will be a children's coloring contest awards program at noon.

The Central Maryland Antique Tractor Club will sponsor a pedal pull for children, with registration starting at 6 p.m., a demonstration at 6: 30 p.m. and the contest at 7 p.m.

Ag Days is sponsored by Carroll County agricultural organizations and businesses, the Maryland State Grange, the Carroll County Cooperative Extension Service and the Carrolltown Center.
