Georgetown defeats Canisius, 15-6

Junior All-American Dan Martin scored three goals and added an assist as No. 9 Georgetown (3-1) rolled to a 15-6 victory over visiting Canisius (0-3) in men's college lacrosse yesterday.

Martin scored all four of his points in the first half for a 7-1 Georgetown lead at halftime. Canisius avoided a scoreless first half on Kevin Fildes' goal with 2: 11 left in the second quarter.

Women

Goucher 14, Dickinson 13: Senior attack Courtney Crangi scored the game-winner with 3: 58 remaining to lift host Goucher (2-0) over Dickinson (0-1) and avenge its lone loss of last season.

Mount St. Mary's 9, Villa Julie 8: Freshman Molly McGrath scored with 2: 30 left in the game to lift Mount St. Mary's (1-2) to the first victory in the history of the program, defeating host Villa Julie (0-2).

UMBC 12, Drexel 3: Senior Emily Petrlik (Howard) and Denise Schilte each scored a hat trick and junior goalie Dani Fostik (Liberty) made 10 saves to power host UMBC (1-0) past Drexel (0-2).
