Two planners reappointed on New Windsor panel

The New Windsor Town Council reappointed two planning commission members to four-year terms last week.

Robert Dixon, commission member since its inception, served recently as chairman.

Jeanne Laudermilch was completing the term of Paul Garver, who resigned after his election to the council. She will begin her first full term on the commission.

The seven-member panel considers growth issues and makes recommendations to the council. The commission meets the fourth Tuesday of the month. The next meeting is March 26.

Taneytown Chamber to hear city manager

Taneytown Chamber of Commerce will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at the American Legion Hall, 9 Broad St.

The speaker will be City Manager Chip Boyles, who will discuss the Taneytown Economic Development Commission and the city's role in economic development.

Residents and new members are welcome.

Union Bridge: Union Bridge firefighters responded at 8: 52 p.m. Tuesday for burning hay bales on Otterdale Mill Road. Units were out two hours and New Windsor transferred an engine to Union Bridge.
