Sykesville man arrested near mall on drug charges

Acting on a tip, Westminster police detectives staked out the parking lot outside a department store at Cranberry Mall Friday night and arrested an 18-year-old Sykesville man on charges of possession and possession with intent to distribute psilocybin mushrooms and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Justin Russell Peach, of the 400 block of Liberty Road, was released Saturday after posting $7,500 bond.

Drug raid at apartment results in resident's arrest

Westminster police detectives raided an apartment in the 100 block of W. Main St. Friday night and arrested a 21-year-old resident of the apartment on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Dennis Barry Jennings was released on $1,000 unsecured bond.

Police

Westminster: A Madison Street resident told city police Saturday that someone threw a bottle through her living room window. Damage was estimated at $50.

Westminster: Employees of a Cranberry Mall department store told city police Wednesday that someone had stolen 10 jackets from store racks. The loss was estimated at $1,041.

Westminster: A Chase Street resident told city police Saturday that someone broke a window in her house. Damage was estimated at $200.

Westminster: A Hacienda Court resident told city police Saturday that someone stole her purse at her place of employment in Cranberry Mall. The loss was estimated at $41.

Westminster: A New Windsor Road resident told city police Sunday that someone dented the driver's side door of her vehicle while it was parked outside her home. Damage was estimated at $600.

Westminster: A John Street resident told city police Saturday that someone has taken tools from the back of his truck. An estimate of the loss was not available.

Westminster: A Carroll Street resident told city police Sunday that someone had removed the license plate from her vehicle. The loss was estimated at $70. Westminster: A West George Street resident told city police Sunday that someone had taken her purse from her home. The loss was estimated at $300.

Fire

Finksburg: Reese and Gamber responded at 10: 03 p.m. Saturday to a chimney fire in the 3500 block of Lawndale Road. Units were out 52 minutes.

Reese: Reese and Westminster responded at 10: 54 a.m. Friday to a chimney fire in the 1700 block of Monarch Meadow Drive. Units were out 37 minutes.

Westminster: Westminster responded at 12: 00 a.m. Sunday to an auto fire on Main Street. Units were out 15 minutes.

Westminster: Westminster responded at 10: 56 a.m. Sunday to an open 911 line in the 500 block of Venice Court.

Westminster: Westminster and New Windsor responded to a carbon monoxide alarm in the 1500 block of Stone Chapel Road at 1: 34 p.m. Saturday. Westminster: Westminster, Reese, Pleasant Valley and Manchester responded at 7: 42 a.m. Saturday to smoke in an apartment in the 100 block of E. Main St. Units were out 17 minutes.

Westminster: Reese and Westminster responded at 5: 59 a.m. Friday to a fire alarm in the 1700 block of Sykesville Road. Births
