Arundel group to sponsor St. Patrick's Day dance

CELEBRATE St. Patrick's Day Sunday with an Irish jig. The Arundel Improvement Association will sponsor its annual St. Patrick's Day dance from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

For a $7 donation, you can enjoy a ham and cabbage platter and dance to the sounds of M&M Diversified.

The dance will be at the AIA hall, 705 Cross St. Call 789-2192 for ticket information.

Dance and flea market

Another St. Patrick's Day dance will take place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Roland Terrace Democratic Club, 619 Matthews Ave.

Live music will be provided by Reason. Beer, set-ups, a platter and chips will be included in the ticket price of $6. Call 636-1504 (after 7 p.m.) or 789-2013 to reserve your tickets now.

Bargains, bargains and more bargains! Be sure to stop by the club Saturday for the indoor flea market. The doors will open at 7 a.m. and close at 3 p.m. Schools to close early

A reminder to parents: County schools will close two hours early on Wednesday for teacher in-service training.

Discussion on urban housing

The Belle Grove Improvement Association will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Belle Grove Elementary School to hear Larry Lloyd discuss urban housing.

The school is at 4502 Belle Grove Road.

Talent show

Brooklyn Park Elementary School will have a talent show March 29.

If you are interested in performing, attend the audition at 5: 30 p.m. Wednesday in the school cafeteria.

Family members of all ages are urged to participate.

2 school bands to perform

The North County High School Band and the Lindale/Brooklyn Park Middle School Band will present a concert at 7 p.m. tomorrow in the high school auditorium.

A $1 donation would be appreciated.

The winter sports banquet will take place at 6 p.m. March 19 at Michael's Eighth Avenue. Tickets are $10 and will be sold during all lunch periods on Friday and March 18 and 19. Be sure to purchase your tickets in advance.

The North County High School Drama Club will present its spring musical, "City of Angels," at 7: 30 p.m. April 18, 19 and 20 in the school auditorium. Ticket information on this winner of seven Tony Awards will be available in the coming weeks.

Effect of absentee landlords

The Arundel Improvement Association will meet at 8 p.m. Thursday to discuss the effect of absentee landlords on the community and the proposed transfer of water service from Baltimore to the county.

Bingo night is held every Monday at the AIA Hall, 705 Cross St. The $3 admission fee includes early-bird cards, hard cards and special cards. Refreshments will be served.

All proceeds support senior programs.
