Gambrills man killed when car veers off road, flips over in Davidsonville

March 11, 1996

A 53-year-old Gambrills man was killed yesterday when the car he was driving veered off the road and flipped over in Davidsonville, police said.

William E. Gardner of the 1100 block of Route 3 was traveling west on Birdsville Road when he went off the left side of the highway at the Dodon Road intersection, police said. Authorities didn't know why he lost control of the 1984 four-door, blue Oldsmobile. The car flew off an embankment, knocked off a fence post and flipped over in a field, ejecting Mr. Gardner, police said.
