Bandits today

March 09, 1996

Opponent: Portland Pirates

Site: Cumberland County Civic Center, Portland, Maine

Time: 2 p.m.

Radio: WITH (1230 AM), WAMD (970 AM).

Outlook: The Bandits and Pirates have played even this season (1-1-1), with this confrontation deciding the season series. Portland, the farm team of the Washington Capitals, has had dramatic mood swings all season, but has been solid of late (7-3). Similar to Baltimore, it is in a battle for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference of the AHL. Top gun for the Pirates right now is Kent Hulst (20 goals, 34 assists), and they're solid in goal with long-time NHL player Ron Tugnutt.
