Bandits' Van Impe called up to Ducks

March 08, 1996|By FROM STAFF REPORTS

The Bandits have lost another defenseman to NHL parent club Anaheim just before starting a six-game road trip tomorrow night.

Darren Van Impe (11 goals, 47 assists) joins Jason Marshall, who was called up two weeks ago by the Mighty Ducks. Van Impe's place will be taken by Don McSween, on loan from Anaheim.

Also, the Bandits assigned left wing Maxim Bets and defenseman/forward Alain Deeks to Raleigh and returned D Brian Goudie to Richmond, both of the East Coast Hockey League.

Bets did not dress for 15 of the Bandits' last 20 games and did not score a point in the other five. Deeks is minus-5 in his last five appearances as a defenseman.
