Opening day tickets to Orioles raffled in hospice fund-raiser

HOSPICE OF THE Chesapeake has an exciting offer for Baltimore Orioles fans: a chance to win two club seat tickets for opening day April 1 at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

The tickets are being raffled at $5 a chance. The drawing is March 25. Call 987-2003. Proceeds will help pay for hospice programs.

One of those is a retreat for children and teen-agers ages 6 to 18 who have relatives or friends with a life-threatening illness, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 13 at the Annapolis Swim Center on Riva Road.

Antiques shops, continued

Because of space limitations, one of Severna Park's most popular antique shops, David Taylor Antiques and Auction Service, was left out of last week's column.

Located next to Farmers' Bank in the Village Center, Taylor Antiques offers estate jewelry, furniture and accessories, and more clocks than you've seen in one location.

"We have certified appraisers for jewelry, silver and antiques," says Mr. Taylor. "We can appraise just about everything."

Open seven days a week, the shop also offers watch and clock repair. Call 647-1701.

Another shop that was left out last week is the Ann Arrundell Historical Society's Browse and Buy Shoppe at Old B&A Blvd. and Jones Station Road.

Band boosters' craft show

The Old Mill High School Band Boosters has scheduled a spring craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 16 at the Millersville school.

The show presents the talents of 150 artisans. A few spaces are still available. Call (410) 760-8221.

Storytime arrives

Storytime is at the Severna Park branch library through April 11.

This free program of stories, crafts and music for preschoolers is arranged according to age groups: 2-year-olds are invited at 9: 30 a.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays; 3- to 6-year-olds at 10: 30 a.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays; and 2- to 6-year-olds at 7 p.m. Wednesdays.

At the Broadneck branch library, 2-year-olds and 3- to 6-year-olds will have separate Storytimes at 10 a.m. Wednesdays through April 30. The same age groups can come at 10 a.m. March 16 and April 6.

Variety show reset

January snow forced the cancellation of Archbishop Spalding High School's second variety show. It has been rescheduled for 7: 30 p.m. tomorrow.

Sponsored by the school's chorus, the night of original songs, dance routines and skits is under the direction of Beth Hough. Tickets are $3 for adults and $2 for students. Information: 969-9105.

Newcomers Club

Teresa Gribbon of Landscape Contractors of Annapolis will speak at the Severna Park Newcomers Club luncheon meeting at 11: 30 a.m. Wednesday at the Annapolis Yacht Club.
