March 07, 1996|By J. Wynn Rousuck

After their daughter died of AIDS contracted from a dentist, the parents of Kimberly Bergalis asked playwright Lee Blessing to create a play about her. That play, "Patient A," has its Baltimore premiere at AXIS Theatre tonight,(3-7) under the direction of Brian Klaas and starring Mary Anne Perry.

The theater is donating a percentage of ticket sales to HERO, the Baltimore-based AIDS services organization, and tonight's opening will also feature a benefit auction.

Show times at AXIS, 3600 Clipper Mill Road, are 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, with a matinee at 2 p.m. March 31. Through April 6. Tickets are $12 and $14, except for opening night, which is $20. For information, call (410) 243-5237.
