Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore city and county.

Western District

Robbery: Assault/arrest: During an argument in the 1600 block of Clifton Ave., a man struck another man in the head with a baseball bat Monday. The victim suffered head and facial injuries but refused treatment. The other man, an acquaintance of the victim, was arrested at the scene.

Southwestern District

Robbery: A deliveryman man for Vizzini's pizza in the 5800 block of Johnnycake Road was delivering two pizzas, a soda and a salad to an apartment building in the 5000 block of Windsor Mill Road Monday night. When he entered the lobby, two men, one with a knife, struck him in the face and robbed him of the food and about $100.

Shooting: A 17-year-old man was in stable condition yesterday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being shot in the left side by a man Monday night in the 4100 block of Woodbridge Road. The weapon was a .22-caliber handgun.

Northeastern District

Shooting: A man was in good condition yesterday at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center after he was shot in the lower back Monday in the 5400 block of Relcrest Road.

Central District

Robbery try: A woman was walking in the 100 block of E. Lanvale St. on Monday when a gunman demanded her money. She told him she had none and he fled.

North Point Precinct

Assault: A 25-year-old woman was using a public telephone in the first block of Shipping Place on Monday when a man armed with a knife told her to hang up. The woman objected and he fled. Later, the man, who had been drinking and had given the knife to a friend, was detained by police while the woman identified him. He was released and the woman was advised to seek a warrant for his arrest.

Towson Precinct

Purse snatch: A 45-year-old woman was in the 6600 block of Loch Raven Blvd. on Monday when a man stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at more than $50.

Cockeysville Precinct

Bank robbery: A gunman robbed the Signet Bank in the 2100 block of York Road on Monday. The teller placed a dye-pack among the cash but the explosive device apparently failed to detonate. The robber ran west on Timonium Road.

Burglary: State lottery tickets and cigarettes, all valued at nearly $2,000, were stolen Monday from Butler Liquors in the 14900 block of Falls Road.

Garrison Precinct

Stolen car: A silver-colored 1989 Ford Probe with tags BXR 990 was stolen Monday in the first block of Warren Park Drive.

Wilkens Precinct

Carjacking: Two men, one with a handgun and the other with a semiautomatic machine pistol, forced a motorist out of his $33,000 Volvo 850 in the 4000 block of McDowell Lane on Monday and drove off.
