A 16-year-old Manchester boy was in fair condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center last night after driving off the road about 10: 30 p.m. Sunday night.

Police said Thomas Brooks Clayton III of the 2900 block of Southwestern Ave. nue was driving his 1992 Chevrolet pickup south on Bachman Road when he went off the left side of the road and struck a tree.

According to police, Thomas was driving too fast for the conditions. The front-seat passenger, Brent Samuel Davis, 18, was released from the trauma center at 5: 30 a.m. yesterday.
