Barry Flax joins Goodman-Gable-Gould

Goodman-Gable-Gould Co., certified fire loss adjusters, named Barry A. Flax to its staff as national sales and marketing coordinator.

Mr. Flax, a former commercial real estate leasing specialist for Julien J. Studley, is a law graduate of the University of Baltimore and member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He resides in Rockville.

Field, Goldstein named Hazmat Training managers

Hazmat Training Information & Services announced the appointments of William A. Field Jr. to manager of business development and Jerri I. Goldstein as manager, environmental information systems.

Hazmat is a Columbia-based, employee-owned, environmental and emergency response training company.

Gene Bracken appointed GBC's communications chief

Greater Baltimore Committee has named Gene Bracken director of communications.

A journalism graduate of the University of Maryland, he has more than 20 years of public relations and news experience.

He formerly was communications director for the Maryland Chamber of Commerce and had been assistant editor and, later, editor of the Carroll County Times.

Legal and insurance

Garry R. Jones joins Smith, Somerville & Case

Smith, Somerville & Case elected Gary R. Jones a member of the firm. Mr. Jones, who will be responsible for health care and environmental litigation, is a graduate of the University of North Carolina law school.

He is active in several legal organizations, including the Environmental Law Institute and the National Health Lawyers Association.

PSA Financial Center hires husband-wife insurance duo

PSA Financial Center of Lutherville announced that Pam and David Bryden joined the firm as account executives.

The husband and wife team specializes in personal property and casualty insurance. They will also work to assist clients in business and financial matters.

The Brydens were most recently account executives with R. B. Brown and Associates in Hunt Valley.

Eisner & Associates hires Hertzberg as supervisor

Eisner & Associates announced that Andy Hertzberg, has joined the Baltimore advertising agency as senior vice president and management supervisor.

A graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he worked for AT&T in New York and New Jersey, and with W. B. Doner & Co. The Columbia Bank has chosen David F. Noyes, senior vice president for residential mortgages, overseeing mortgage initiation and production and management of loan servicing operations.

Before joining the Howard County-based bank, he was a senior vice president with Loyola Federal. WS&B Financial Advisors announced that Alan E. Seider was selected as vice president for the financial unit of Walpert, Smullian & Blumenthal, a Towson-based regional accounting firm.

He is a member of the International Association for Financial Planning and the Municipal Bond Club of Baltimore.

Mr. Seider and his wife live in Cockeysville and have two sons.
