Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore city and county.

Northeastern District

Shooting: A resident of the 5500 block of Ritter Ave. was shot in the head Tuesday night in the 4500 block of White Ave. He was listed in critical condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Central District

Stolen car: A black 1991 Acura Legend with Pennsylvania tags AYJ9496 was stolen yesterday from the 2400 block of Eutaw Place.

Northwestern District

Robbery: Two men, one with a handgun, robbed a person of a cellular phone valued at $200 in the 4700 block of Park Heights Ave. on Tuesday.

Essex Precinct

Carjacking/arrest: Precinct Officer Kenneth McGuire was treated for minor injuries after he was hit by a Harford County deputy's car while chasing a carjacking suspect in Joppatowne Tuesday night. The suspect was trying run after the car -- stolen in Baltimore and pursued by police from several jurisdictions -- crashed into a tree.

North Point Precinct

Theft/arrest: An Essex man was arrested yesterday outside Sam's Club in the 8200 block of Eastern Blvd. by a store security officer in the theft of more than $600 worth of computer equipment.

Towson Precinct

Robbery: A 49-year-old Towson-area man was walking behind the 100 block of Ware Ave. on Tuesday when a man asked him for a cigarette, then showed a gun and robbed him of two pagers and an undisclosed sum of money.

Garrison Precinct

Robbery: Police were seeking a man who robbed RGIF Inventory Specialists in the 1700 block of Reisterstown Road of $250 Tuesday at rifle-point. In a scuffle with two employees, the robber was hit with his own weapon, losing the rifle but fleeing with the money.

Woodlawn Precinct

Burglary: Someone entered a house in the 1900 block of Englewood Road Tuesday through a side window and stole stereo speakers, two VCRs and a TV, all valued at nearly $2,000.

Victim identified: Police identified a man fatally shot Tuesday on the front steps of a house in the 500 block of N. Port St. as Dwayne Edmunds, 29, of the 5900 block of Cedonia Ave.

Arrest: Haley "Michele" Jackson, 22, charged in a warrant with first-degree murder in the slaying of a New York man in the 300 block of Cathedral St. earlier this month, was arrested Tuesday in New York. The killing has been linked through ballistics tests to a double murder in Aberdeen.
