St. Mary's (8-17) at Loyola (11-14)

Site: Reitz Arena

Outlook: This game fills a void in Loyola's schedule created when a blizzard forced the cancellation of its Jan. 7 meeting with Winthrop. The Greyhounds completed their Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference slate with last night's 67-53 win over Siena, and they will use St. Mary's as a warm-up for Saturday's tournament opener against Canisius. The Seahawks went 5-9 in the Capital Athletic Conference in the regular season, then upset Goucher, 87-79, in the first round of the tournament before losing to Salisbury State.

Duke (17-10) at Maryland (14-10)

Site: Cole Field House, College Park

Duke (7-7 ACC) has a half-game lead on the Terps for fourth. This is the first of three in a row at Cole for Maryland, which is 3-2 at home and 3-5 on the road in ACC play. Duke hammered UCLA, 85-66, on Sunday to position itself for a return to the NCAA tournament. In a Jan. 28 game in Durham, N.C., the Terps forced 26 Duke turnovers but lost, 83-73.

These teams finished tied for second place in the Capital Athletic Conference at 11-3 during the regular season, before Salisbury eliminated Goucher in the semifinals, 85-68. The Sea Gulls have won two of three games between the teams this season. They lost to Waynesburg (Pa.), 68-66, in last year's first round.
